Author Guidelines

The language of the conference will be English and we invite research papers, work-in-progress papers, and position papers. All submissions will be reviewed by an international programme committee.

Submissions should not be in press or under consideration for presentation or publication elsewhere, and should be prepared strictly according to the following instructions:

  • Full paper submissions must not exceed a maximum of 6 A4 pages
  • Short paper submissions must not exceed a maximum of 3 A4 pages
  • It is recommended that the paper whenever applicable is organised following the IMRAD scheme recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE): The paper begins with an abstract, which is a one-to-four-paragraph summary of the paper. The introduction describes the background for the research including a discussion of similar research. The materials and methods or experimental section provides specific details of how the research was conducted. The results and discussion section describes the outcome and implications of the research, and the conclusion section places the research in context and describes avenues for further exploration
  • The submissions must include names, affiliations, and locations of all authors as well as keywords preferably taken from the scientific map provided by IMIA. A keyword list for a submission must contain at least three keywords from the scientific map.
  • The pdf-version should not be submitted before notification of acceptance.

Workshop authors will maintain the copyrights of their papers, but will be required to sign a form allowing the local organizers to include their paper in the workshop's proceedings. The possibility of a journal special issue based on the workshop papers will be discussed during the workshop.
